Many MMA academies have fighters that portray themselves as the "bad ass" tattoo tough guy. It is a great marketing ploy, since many fighters ,who have this profile, are rarely winners. What ends up happening is that these fighters acquire second rate skills since they are so enamored with themselves.

It take awhile, but the Karate and Kung Fu model of INeffective martial arts is finally taking hold. If Karate and Kung Fu were effective it would be used in the UFC - but it is not.
