IRVINE - A 45-year-old Tustin man was arrested Saturday four and a half hours after his estranged wife was found dead in her Irvine home, police officials said.

The victim – a 41-year-old woman – was stabbed, but the Orange county coroner will make a final determination of death, police said.

Terry Raymond Snyder was apprehended by police while driving his champagne-colored Cadillac SRX through the city of Lake Elsinore in Riverside County, said Irvine police Lt. Henry Boggs.

“We put out a broadcast and another agency located his car,” Boggs said.

Snyder will be held at the Irvine Police Department for questioning, Boggs said. He will later be moved to the Orange County Jail.

Police received a 911 call at 9:47 a.m. from a neighbor in the 30 block of Tradition after the victim’s three children, ages 2, 4 and 7, came running to her home for help.

Snyder was later observed leaving the home, police said.

The couple appear to have a history of domestic violence, and Snyder had a restraining order against him, Boggs said. It was unclear whether the couple was divorced or separated.

The victim’s name will not be released until next of kin are notified.
