Not enough information is a dangerous position to be in.

Regarding self defense, people’s idea of what should be part of a self defense curriculum is all over the map. Sadly, for most people, the only time it is tested is if they are in a criminal situation.

Many martial arts schools really don’t test their students in realistic situations . Why? There are several reasons:

  1. It decreases retention since most people do not want to be tested.
  2. People have paid a lot of money for martial arts lessons, and why ruin their belief system in one day?

The purpose of the martial arts is effective self defense. Included with this is getting fit, improving concentration, and relieving stress.

Pick a martial arts school that can give you results when you need it.
